BOOKING & PAYMENT

WHAT METHODS ARE AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING?

All booking is taken via our website. A small minority experience issues when booking on their mobile devices. If you have trouble booking on your mobile device, please try a different browser or use a desktop computer.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS ARE AVAILABLE?

The only payment option is via Paypal, you do not need an account to use Paypal, simply use the option to checkout as a ‘guest’ and you can use your card to pay. Some parents have problems seeing this option on their mobile, this can be rectified by using a desktop/laptop to book instead.

DO HAPPY HEDGEHOG SPORTS ACCEPT CHILDCARE VOUCHERS?

Unfortunately we are unable to accept childcare vouchers. This is due to our registration as a sports instruction company as opposed to being a childcare service.

COVID-19

 

WILL YOU STILL ADMINISTER FIRST AID?

Our First Aiders have been updated on the guidance provided by St John’s Ambulance. First aid will still be administered if required with the appropriate adaptations.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF A CHILD SHOWS SYMPTOMS?

The child will be taken to an isolation room. The emergency contact listed will be called and asked to collect the child.

 

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY CHILD SHOWS SYMPTOMS BEFORE A CAMP?

If your child becomes unwell before camp they should remain at home.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOUR STAFF SHOW SYMPTOMS?

We will not utilise any member of staff who has symptoms of Covid-19.

 

 

CAMPS

 

WHAT ARE THE AGE RANGES?

We can accept children aged 5 to 12 only. Unfortunately we cannot accept 4 year olds even if they are attending Reception. This is due to government regulation restricting the hours that 4 year olds can attend.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

Our camps go ahead in all but the most extreme weather. Please ensure your child has adequate clothing. Should a camp need to be cancelled during the day, all parents will be contacted.

 

WHAT EQUIPMENT/KIT DOES MY CHILD NEED?

You need to provide your child with adequate clothing for sports, packed lunch (please no nuts/fizzy drinks), and a water bottle.

IS CAMP COMPETITIVE?

The goal of our camp is to encourage participation and enjoyment. Children are grouped by age and have a coach attached who is experienced with that age-range.

 

CLUBS

 

HOW DOES MY CHILD GET TO THE CLUB?

Our Coach has a register of all the children booked on. A copy of this register is also given to the relevant school. Depending on the school, the children will either be taken to the club by the Teacher or our Coach will collect them.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

Our clubs go ahead in all but the most extreme weather. Please ensure your child has adequate clothing. Should you wish your child not to participate - they should be collected before the club begins. We are unable to supervise non-participants.

 

WHAT EQUIPMENT/KIT DOES MY CHILD NEED?

You need to provide your child with adequate clothing for sports.

WHAT HAPPENS ON COLLECTION?

The Coach will take all of the children to the collection point relevant to the school/year group. The child will be released upon sight of the parent/carer. 

CAN 4 YEAR OLDS ATTEND CLUBS?

Yes. Government regulation permits a maximum of two hours sports instruction per day.  As our sports activity sessions are less than two hours long, 4 year olds in Reception are able to attend. The same regulation disqualifies 4 year olds from attending camps.
